Donna John’s husband of 19 years, Peter, was brutally stabbed to death at her stepdad’s funeral. Within hours, the devoted wife had lost the two most important men in her life. She shared her story to help other widows come to terms with their loss.
Peter’s killer, an old family friend named Johnny Nicholles, was jailed for 14 years earlier this year.

I recently had the privilege of working with Susan Copestick, who bravely saved the life of her own rapist so he would face justice for the attack.
Peter Drummond launched his degrading sexual assault in revenge for Susan ending their 10-year relationship. Thanks to Susan’s courage, Peter was jailed for 10 years in April.
Determined to raise awareness for other victims, she shared her story with Chat magazine and national newspapers, including the Mirror.
This morning, she appeared on BBC Two’s Victoria Derbyshire to encourage other victims to seek justice.

In today’s Mirror, Susan bravely explains why she saved the life of her own rapist. Her attacker, Peter Drummond, brutally raped her in revenge after Susan ended their 10-year relationship. He then tried to commit suicide by overdosing on pills, but Susan was determined that he would face justice for his crime and she rang an ambulance. He was jailed for 10 years in April, giving Susan the closure she needed to move on with her life.
Now she hopes her incredible story will inspire other victims of sexual attacks to come forward.
